MAPA seizes smuggled agricultural products

The Ministry of Agriculture seized 40 boxes of contraband wine, 600 animal skins, and 7,590 liters of illegal pesticides. They also seized 100 heads of supposedly smuggled cattle, seizing both vehicles and offenders. The work took place in conjunction with federal and state agencies.
Operation Ronda Agro VII took place between September 13th and 22nd. The ministry participated via VIGIFRONTEIRA, the surveillance program for the agricultural defense of international borders).
Also participating in the seizure were federal agricultural tax auditors, MAPA sanitary and industrial inspection agents for animal products, and state agricultural inspectors from ADAPAR (the agricultural defense agency of Paraná), AGED (the agricultural defense agency of Maranhão), and ADAPEC (the agricultural defense agency of Tocantins).
In Paraná, the agents inspected 23 rural properties and 94 vehicles in transit on highways and side roads in the regions of the cities of Guaíra, Santa Helena, Foz do Iguaçu, Santo Antônio do Sudoeste, and Realeza.
