Movecta, one of Brazil’s largest integrated logistics companies, has received the LPCO (License, Permission, Certificate, and Other Documents) from the General Coordination of the Agricultural Surveillance System of MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock). This license allows Movecta to handle refrigerated animal-origin cargo in its warehouses at the Guarujá bonded terminal, the largest facility of its kind at the Port of Santos. With this certification, Movecta will be the first to meet the demands of the country’s main meatpackers through its unit in Santos.
“This important step aligns with the company’s strategic plan. We handle approximately 45% of all refrigerated cargo in the region, and this license allows us to expand our operations by unstuffing the containers until all cargo is cleared. “We track the entire process, ensuring transport efficiency from arrival at the warehouse to delivery to customers,” says Movecta commercial manager Carolina Paiva.
Recent Movecta indicators in Guarujá show significant progress. The company transported more than 12,000 containers in the first four months of this year, registering a 25% increase in imports at its bonded terminal. This increase was driven primarily by refrigerated cargo (68%), paper and cellulose, textiles, chemicals, and machinery and equipment. Movecta is the only company with a cold room at the Guarujá customs terminal, and it handles nearly half of all frozen cargo from the Port of Santos.
“With our strategic location on the left bank of the port, our structure is tailor-made for this type of operation and aligned with the requirements of MAPA and the Federal Revenue, ensuring a prominent position in serving customers in the largest port in Latin America,” offered the executive.
