Investments in infrastructure in Brazil should reach at least R$ 400 billion by the year 2035. This is shown by the National Logistics Plan (PNL 2035), a document prepared by the Planning and Logistics Company (EPL) in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure.
Launched on October 22nd, PNL 2035 assesses how close the national transport network is to the objectives of the National Transport Policy and identifies the needs to be worked on over the coming years, with the simulation of possible scenarios for the sector.
The preparation of the plan took into account investments in a series of projects, such as interventions provided for in all existing concession and partnership contracts; public works in progress and planned; 164 airports with regular flights as per the National Air Plan; and new railways, such as Ferrogrão, Fiol, Fico, new branches of the North-South Railway and extensions of the railway networks currently in operation.
It also takes into account leasing, privatization, private use terminals, expansions in port capacity; investments in waterways, improvements, and construction of IP4, and other large-scale interventions planned – in addition to duplications, paving, and interventions in federal and state road infrastructure.
