Beginning May 1st, 2024, vessels docked at Suape Port will have another option for bunker fuel supply, aimed at optimizing port activities and boosting competitiveness. The new bunker supply service will be operated by Dislub, a company belonging to the Dislub Ecuador Group (GDE). The product will be pumped from the Ultracargo terminal to a barge through PGL1. This initiative aims to optimize port activities and boost competitiveness.
The service will be strategic for the state-owned port, reinforcing its status as a port hub in the state of Pernambuco. The announcement of Dislub’s new operation was made official on Tuesday afternoon, at the Intermodal South America, one of the largest logistics, foreign trade, and cargo exhibitions trade shows on the continent, held annually at the Expo São Paulo event venue.
The ceremony took place at Suape’s booth shortly after the fair’s opening, with over 500 exhibitors and an expected attendance of over 40,000 people until Thursday, March 7.
In addition to Suape Port’s CEO, Marcio Guiot, and other representatives of the state-owned company, the announcement featured the participation of businessman Humberto Carrilho, advisor and shareholder of Dislub Equador; Antônio Barbará, Commercial Director of Maritime Fuels at the group; and Leonardo Cerquinho, Business Development Director.
“Due to its location and cargo mix profile, Suape Port naturally demands bunker services. Our operation will fill this gap,” highlights Cerquinho. Marcio Guiot points out that the bunker supply service will reinforce Suape’s strategic position in the region and the country, adding even more value to ships calling at the complex.
To enable the bunker operation, Dislub will have access to the infrastructure of four tanks with a capacity of 10,000 m³ each, totaling 40,000 m³ of fuel storage. The product will be pumped from the Ultracargo terminal located in the organized port to a barge at Pier 1 for Liquid Bulk. Following this step, the vessel will be ready to provide onboard refueling for ships.
