New Market Opening in Kenya
Feb, 04, 2025 Posted by Denise VileraWeek 202506
The Brazilian government is pleased to announce that Kenya’s health authority has approved the International Sanitary Certificate (CSI) model for exporting beef, meat products, and bovine offal from Brazil.
2024 Brazil exported over USD 41 million in agricultural goods to Kenya. This market opening is expected to boost trade between the two countries. It represents an opportunity for Brazil to diversify trade partnerships and strengthen the national production sector. Meanwhile, with a population of 55 million, Kenya will gain access to internationally recognized high-quality meat, meeting the country’s growing demand for animal protein.
To initiate trade in beef and its derivatives, local importers must obtain import licenses, and a risk assessment will be required for each Brazilian establishment interested in exporting.
With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 321 new business opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
