Niterói will soon host Tomorrow Blue Economy, the world’s largest Blue Economy event, on December 4th and 5th. Organized by the pioneering smart cities company iCities, in partnership with the City of Niterói, Neltur, and endorsed by Fira Barcelona, the event will take place at Caminho Niemeyer. It will offer public debates and experiences highlighting the ocean economy’s importance to society.
The congress is free to attend and will feature lectures from notable speakers such as Tamara Klink, Brazilian sailor; Gunter Pauli, Belgian entrepreneur and father of the blue economy; Rodrigo Thome, leader of the Euceano Movement, among other experts. The program includes panels on coastal resilience to climate change, the blue economy and sports, sustainable ports, and innovative technologies.
In addition to the congress content, parallel stages, and a business area, visitors can explore essential innovations that are already transforming the water quality landscape in Brazil. Projects such as Infinito Mare’s technological Caravel and BDM Venture Building’s water-cleaning bicycles, Biclean, will be showcased at the event.
Interactive activities will present local initiatives focused on social transformation through the blue economy, such as Projeto Grael, a social inclusion reference with projects combining sports, professional training, and citizenship.
“Brazil has about 8,500 km of coastline, with 17 states along the shore. We know the importance and potential of the blue economy for the country, especially for Niterói, which is already moving towards sustainable development. Therefore, we emphasize the invitation for the population to attend, learn about the innovations, and actively participate in this landmark event for the city,” said Beto Marcelo, managing partner of iCities.
It is important to note that DatamarNews is a media partner of the event.
