Norcoast, a Brazilian coastal shipping company, launched its operations at the Port of Itajaí, southern Brazil, this Wednesday (9th). The box ship NC Bruma’s first time in the region observes the company’s intentions to expand cargo transportation along the Brazilian coast, extending its operations from North to South. The vessel is currently en route to the Port of Paranaguá in Paraná.
By adding the Port of Itajaí to its weekly rotation, Norcoast ensures broader service coverage, now including Santos, Itajaí, Paranaguá, Suape, Pecém, and Manaus. This expansion enhances the company’s reach and creates further business opportunities for its clients. It is worth mentioning that all of its ships fly the Brazilian flag and operate under an entirely Brazilian crew.
Norcoast handles a wide range of goods, including refrigerated cargo for protein producers, white goods, construction materials, packaging, wood, and more. “We focus on integrated logistics, particularly a door-to-door service, meaning we deliver cargo directly to the client’s doorstep. Our new Itajaí route broadens our operations and enhances logistical competitiveness, especially for Santa Catarina and parts of Rio Grande do Sul, thereby driving Brazilian economic growth,” says Fabian Lavaselli, Norcoast’s Commercial and Customer Experience Director.
Launched in October of last year, Norcoast offers a fresh alternative for container shipping along the Brazilian coast and the Amazon basin, serving the country’s main ports and metropolitan regions.
