The National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq), between April 25th and 29th, inspected, in partnership with other public agencies, 14 solid bulk terminals, port operators, Private Use Terminals, and trucks that circulate on the public roads within the Organized Port of Santos area.
The outcome of Operation Port Limpo was 28 Irregularity Correction Notices (known as Noci) and other nine infraction notices based on the National Port Guard’s Traffic Code. According to ANTAQ regulations, those notified must regularize the sanitary issues identified within the specific time frame specified by the acting inspectors.
The operation led by Antaq featured the participation of the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Brazilian Navy, the International Agricultural Surveillance Unit (Vigiagro), the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, the Santos Port Authority, the Ministry of Economy), the city of Santos, among others.
The operation’s goal was to analyze the hygiene and cleanliness of port operations and to ensure compliance with best practices for limiting the growth of synanthropic fauna (composed of animal species that interact negatively with the human population).
Notices
The emissions of NOCIs, an instrument that Antaq can use, are issued by agents after on-site inspections in case of non-compliance. If the notice is not complied with within the established period, the inspectors can give an Infraction Notice. Antaq’s agents use the SFIS Mobile hygiene and cleanliness checklists as a reference and receive the support of a drone to inspect areas.
SFIS Mobile
The use of the SFIS Mobile application allows a number of functions such as importing information from authorized companies, integrating with ANTAQ’s databases, and automatically generating alerts and violation notices. Furthermore, SFIS Mobile provides the inspector with other conveniences such as conducting inspections offline (when there is no internet connectivity), inserting photos into reports, filling out inspection procedures checklists, as well as issuing inspection reports.
