Optimism: Footwear Exports Grow 14.7% in the First Two Months of 2025

Brazilian footwear exports significantly increased in the first two months of 2025, totaling 21 million pairs and generating revenue of USD 174.23 million, according to data from the Brazilian Footwear Industry Association (Abicalçados). The volume of shipments grew by 14.7% compared to the same period in 2024, while revenue increased by 2.7%.
The performance was also positive in February, with 9.6 million pairs exported and USD 85.9 million in revenue, representing increases of 18.9% in volume and 8.9% in revenue compared to February of last year.
Haroldo Ferreira, CEO of Abicalçados, explains that the sector’s good performance is partly due to a weaker comparison base, especially given the drop in exports in 2024, but also highlights the impact of a favorable exchange rate.

With a stronger dollar against the Brazilian real, exporters have offered more competitive prices without compromising profitability. “The exported footwear in the first two months of the year was 10.5% cheaper than in the same period last year,” Ferreira stated. The average price per exported pair was USD 8.26.
