The Paraguayan Chamber of Beef (CPC) states that it expects to close this year with around 400,000 tons of exported beef, which could generate around 1.5 billion dollars in foreign exchange for the country.
“The export of Paraguayan beef is having a very good year due to growing international demand post-Covid and problems that our competitors experienced”, said the general manager of the CPC, Daniel Burt.
Burt explained that Paraguayan beef managed to position itself in recent months in different markets and at the same time managed to continue maintaining the same important markets in terms of volume such as Chile, Russia, Taiwan, Israel, and Brazil. They also maintained other important niches, such as the European Union and the Arab countries.
The chart below shows a comparison of Paraguayan beef exports in the first half of the last three years, according to DataLiner:

“As always, we have logistical problems both nationally and internationally, but in general we believe that we are going to end with a good year. The first semester was a very important period in terms of exports and foreign exchange”, said Burt in an interview with Rádio Nacional de Paraguay, according to the state agency IP.
