Apr, 13, 2021 Posted by Ruth HollardWeek 202115
A public hearing will be held in the next few days by the National Customs Directorate of Paraguay for the purchase of 10 scanners to perform non-intrusive controlling of containers in order to strengthen the fight against drug trafficking and smuggling.
The Directorate has stated that anyone interested in providing the scanners will be invited to participate to learn about the characteristics and requirements of the equipment, which uses high-energy X-ray technology.
Two scanners will be acquired as soon as possible with resources from the Directorate and the remaining eight will be acquired with the cooperation of other institutions and a loan.
The Paraguayan government also advanced the purchase of radars and intelligence equipment for SENAD (the national anti-drug secretariat)
