Past month’s pork exports outdo September 2022 shipments

According to Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), pork exports (either fresh or frozen) in the first 20 business days of September outdid shipments registered last year.
The revenue obtained from pork exports stood at US$ 228,531,263, representing 98.9% of total earnings collected throughout September 2022, which amounted to US$ 231,068,528. In terms of volume shipped, the 98,461,728 tonnes mark a 4.43% increase compared to September last year, which was 94,276,376 tonnes.
Compared to the revenue from pork exports in August of this year, the US$ 228,531,263 collected in September represents a 3.9% decrease from the US$ 237,866,185 recorded in August. As for the volume shipped, the 98,461,728 tonnes exported this September are 1.54% lower compared to the 100,003.76 tonnes exported in August.

The daily average revenue until the end of the month was US$ 11,426,563, representing a 3.8% increase over September 2022. There was an 11.35% decrease from the previous week’s US$ 12,890,182 this week.
There were also 4,923,086 tonnes shipped per day, representing a 9.7% increase over the same month in 2022. There was a 10.84% decrease from the 5,521,725.6 tonnes compared to the previous week.
The price paid per ton, US$ 2,321,016, is 5.3% lower than in September of the previous year. In comparison to the last week’s value, there was a slight decrease of 0.57% from the previous US$ 2,334,448.
