With the Port of Pecém consolidating itself more and more as a hub for steel products, the ships responsible for moving coils and steel plates are now bringing other types of cargo, taking advantage of the frequency of the existing routes. Recently, Tecer Terminais, one of the main operational service providers at the port, was responsible for the unloading of a mechanical horse that came from China together with steel products. The operation was carried out with the MHC crane (mobile port crane).
From January to October, the Port of Pecém handled 18.107 million tons, surpassing the result for the whole year of 2019, the best result so far (18.100 million tons). Among the main cargoes handled are ores; mineral fuels; and cast iron.
