Pecém port complex welcomes two new board members

After the board’s approval, the Pecém Port Complex is joined by two new directors. Roberto de Castro has assumed the position of Operations Director, while André Magalhães has taken on the role of Commercial Director. They have replaced Waldir Sampaio and Duna Uribe, respectively.
Roberto de Castro holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Fortaleza (Unifor) and is currently pursuing an MBA in Port Management and International Business from the Brazilian Institute of Continous Education (INBEC). He brings a wide array of experience to his new role, having served as Director of Governance for the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Ceará from 2019 to 2023, as well as the commercial director of EPZ from 2015 to 2019. Roberto has also worked as an Advisor of Institutional Relations at Cetip S/A and the National Confederation of Insurance Companies (CNSeg). His background encompasses both the public and private sectors.
André Magalhães, who holds a degree in Nautical Sciences from the School of Merchant Marine Officers in Rio de Janeiro, has been appointed the Commercial Director. He brings over 20 years of experience in the shipping and port sectors in Brazil and abroad, having previously served as the Commercial Director of the Imetame Aracruz Port Complex. André has worked for renowned companies such as Hamburg Sud and APM Terminals Pecém. He holds an MBA in International Management from the Centenary College of New Jersey, as well as an MBA with an emphasis in Strategy from COPPEAD/FA7.
As part of the reorganization, Waldir Sampaio will now serve as an executive advisor to the Vice-Presidency of Operations, while Duna Uribe will return to the Port of Rotterdam.
