Oct, 02, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202439
According to Jason Guillén Flores, Manager of Safety, Protection, and Environment at Cosco Shipping Port Perú, the Port of Chancay is 93% complete and has already undergone operational tests, which included receiving a vessel carrying 1,700 empty containers.
Flores explained that the vessel’s arrival marked the beginning of cargo tests, as well as trials with quay cranes, uncrewed electric vehicles, and yard cranes.
He promised that the construction schedule would be met and the port facility would be inaugurated in November as planned.
The cargo operation involved the vessel Yantian, which departed San Antonio en route to Manzanillo, Mexico, making a stop at the Port of Chancay for the scheduled maneuver. Fully automated equipment made the operation possible.
