The Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Worship has announced that the Philippines has authorized imports of poultry meat and pork from Argentina and extended beef exports to include bone-in cuts, offal, and fats.
The ministry stated that this achievement is the result of coordinated efforts by the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (SAGyP), the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (SENASA), and the private sector.
In 2023, the Philippines imported over $1.75 billion of meat and by-products from various countries. Between January and October 2024, meat imports into the Philippines surged by 17% year-on-year, reflecting strong demand in the market.
Last year, Philippine authorities visited Argentina for two inspections to assess its sanitary control systems for beef, pork, and poultry production. These inspections confirmed Argentina’s compliance with international standards, paving the way for new export opportunities.

As the world’s leading exporter of high-quality beef, Argentina is actively working to diversify its meat exports by expanding its presence in the poultry and pork markets. While China remains the largest importer of Argentina’s meat products, the approval from the Philippines marks a significant step in broadening its global market reach.
