Last Friday (23), Pamplona Alimentos shipped the first of five containers with pork bound for Canada. The operation occurred after the company’s units located in the municipalities of Presidente Getúlio and Rio do Sul in Santa Catarina received approval to export pork after proving that it meets the technical requirements listed in the agreement Brazil and Canada signed this year.
The first container, with 25.5 tonnes of non-processed pork, left Presidente Getúlio bound for the port of Vancouver. According to the company’s note, the lot was developed “specifically” to meet the demand of Canadian customers. “We are aware that Canada is one of the most competitive markets. Our goal is for those consumers to become familiar with and identify with the quality and flavor of the pork we produce,” said the Foreign Market Sales Manager at the company, Paulo Calheiros.
“The export of our first batch of pork to Canada consolidates our strategy of expanding the presence and exposure of our brand in the international market, always producing with the highest quality standards, following animal welfare practices. We are among the largest pork exporting companies in Brazil,” stated in the note the director-president of Pamplona Alimentos, Irani Pamplona Peters.
