Data from the Brazilian Association of Animal Proteins (ABPA) shows that Brazilian pork exports—including all products, both fresh and processed—reached 121.1 thousand tons in November. This marks the third-highest monthly volume ever recorded in the sector’s history, representing a 15.1% increase compared to the 105.7 thousand tons exported during the same period last year.
Exports saw a notable 29.5% rise in revenue, generating USD 291.7 million in November 2024, compared to USD 225.2 million in the same month last year.
From January to November, Brazil’s pork exports totaled 1.243 million tons, an 11.1% increase compared to the 1.118 million tons recorded during the same period in 2023. Revenue for the year also grew by 7.3%, reaching USD 2.774 billion, up from USD 2.586 billion in 2023.

The Philippines remained the largest destination for Brazilian pork exports, with imports reaching 28.8 thousand tons in November—a staggering 143.9% increase compared to last year. Other key markets included China, with 21.1 thousand tons (-17.2%); Chile, with 10.6 thousand tons (+45.7%); Japan, with 9.2 thousand tons (+170.7%); Hong Kong, with 7.9 thousand tons (-38.4%); and Vietnam, with 5.6 thousand tons (+66.9%).
“In just 11 months, pork exports have surpassed the total shipments recorded for the previous year. This demonstrates the growing diversification of export markets and the positive impact of the pre-listing system* adopted in several key destinations, such as the Philippines and Chile, which now rank among the sector’s top markets,” said ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
Santa Catarina remains Brazil’s largest pork exporter, shipping 62.2 thousand tons in November—an 8.7% increase compared to last year. Following are Rio Grande do Sul, with 30.4 thousand tons (+27.7%); Paraná, with 16 thousand tons (+15.9%); Mato Grosso, with 3.2 thousand tons (+5.5%); and Mato Grosso do Sul, with 2.3 thousand tons (+48.4%).
Pre-listing System: The pre-listing accreditation agreement allows all companies certified by the Federal Inspection System to request export approval for markets that recognize the agreement. Technical missions from importing countries’ authorities focus on validating the system as a whole rather than individual facilities.
