Pork exports in March are below March/22 and February/24

According to information from the Federal Government’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), released on April 4, the partial data for exports of fresh, refrigerated, or frozen pork in March (20 business days) did not reach the revenue or volume recorded in March 2023, also trailing the data from February this year.

The revenue from pork exports up to this point in the month, $179,169,192, represents 77.38% of the total collected in March 2023, which was $231,527,515. As for the volume shipped, the 78,827.066 tonnes account for 82.77% of the total recorded in March of last year, a quantity of 95,225.917 tonnes.

Compared to February, revenue of $179,169,192 in March represents a 6.09% decrease from $190,795,628 collected in February of this year. The volume shipped through the end of March, 78,827.066, is 6.60% less than the 84,404.653 tons exported in February.

The average revenue per day up to this point in the month was $8,958,459, a 22.6% decrease from March 2023. Compared to the previous week, there was an increase of 3.34% compared to the $8,668,831 seen last week.

The average volume shipped per day was 3,941.3533, a decrease of 17.2% compared to the same month in 2023. When compared to the result of the previous week, there was an increase of 3.59%, compared to the 3,804.719 tons from last week.

The price paid per ton, $2,272.940, is 6.5% lower than that practiced in March last year. The result, compared to the value reached in the previous week, represents a modest decrease of 0.24% compared to the previous $2,278.441.
