In an agreement between the port authority of Espírito Santo, VPorts, and the logistics solutions group from Paraná, FTSpar, a partnership was officially sealed on the 22nd of last month, aimed at expanding the mix of export cargo at the Capuaba port in Vila Velha.
The expectation is not only to increase integration with other ports controlled by VPorts but also to broaden the range of new modalities for imports.
With a focus on handling and storing solid bulks, the area at the port to be taken over by FTSpar encompasses no less than 22,000 square meters. The contract entails investments in warehouse infrastructure and site management.
“The new contract will have a significant impact on cargo in bulk. We are enhancing our infrastructure to create more competitive conditions both for the Port and for our State,” stated Ilson Hulle, CEO of VPorts.
The partnership with the Paraná-based group marks the seventh private lease agreement signed since the port complex transitioned from Codesa to VPorts. According to Hulle, this deal represents a milestone in port modernization and development, not only for Capuaba port but also for Brazil.
“This marks the development of the seventh contract in less than 18 months of private management, proving that we are on the right path, being more agile and assertive in negotiations, consolidating our port as an efficient link to the logistics chain aligned with the new market demands,” said the director.
