
Port Itapoá announces new CEO Ricardo Arten

Port Itapoá in Santa Catarina has announced a leadership transition in its Executive Board. Ricardo Arten will take over as the new CEO, succeeding Cássio José Schreiner, who had led the terminal since 2017.
Under Schreiner’s leadership, Port Itapoá established itself as one of the country’s largest, handling over 1.2 million TEUs and standing out for its innovation, sustainability efforts, and efficient administration.
Ricardo Arten, with 25 years of experience in the port industry and a background in major projects in Santos, Itajaí, and Rio de Janeiro, is now tasked with continuing Port Itapoá’s expansion and strengthening its position as one of South America’s leading container terminals.
From 2019 to 2024, Arten served as CEO of BTP. He holds a degree in naval engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
