The Port of Fortaleza carried out a groundbreaking asphalt concrete import operation in the state of Ceará last Wednesday (17/01).
CBAA Asfaltos, the company behind this initiative, brought 10,500 tonnes of CAP 50/70 to the port. The cargo was stored in tanks and later distributed to the company’s factory in Guaiúba, a municipality in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza.
Subsequently, the material will be resold in all states in Brazil’s Northeast region.
This operation is set to repeat every month and may expand its capacity throughout the year.
A ‘pipe rack’ structure was used to facilitate the handling maneuvers, with three simultaneous supply points that allowed the simultaneous loading of three trucks.
Luiz Gustavo dos Santos, the Executive Director of CBAA, accompanied by Roberto Barbosa, the Director of the company’s branch in Ceará, commended the partnership with the Ceará Dock Company, responsible for port administration. “We were well-assisted in all phases of the process, and we are confident that this will be a successful partnership,” he remarked.
CBAA Asfaltos’ activity at the Port of Fortaleza represents a boon for the economic growth of Ceará and the Northeast.
Asphalt concrete is essential for road paving, street construction, highway resurfacing, and other infrastructure projects.
