The Port of Imbituba celebrates a significant milestone this Saturday, November 30, with the resumption of its direct connection to the Asian continent. The arrival of the MSC SIYA B is the first of a series of vessels that will be part of the Carioca Maritime Line, operated by MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company). This event marks the beginning of the line’s operation at the Port of Imbituba, reconnecting the port to Asian markets.
This will strengthen the port’s presence in the global market, expand its connections, and establish it as a strategic point for international trade.
With the return of the Carioca Line, the Imbituba Port Complex now has four regular container lines:
- Brasex – Brazil – North America connection
- Atlas – Brazil – Mar del Plata, Argentina connection
- ALCT2 – Cabotage
- Carioca – Brazil – Asia connection
For Urbano Lopes de Sousa Netto, CEO of the Port Authority of Imbituba, the port is increasingly positioning itself as a critical point in the flow of imports and exports, creating new opportunities for investment and business. The return of the Carioca line reaffirms the port’s relevance, enhancing its importance in global logistics and international trade.
