The landing of approximately 6.6 thousand tonnes opened a new route in the flow of calcined coke in the Port of Imbituba, now imported. The cargo, derived from oil and with ample possibility of industrial use, came from England in the FWN ATLANTIDE, operated by Sul Norte Logística and brokered by Simonsen, undocked from Pier 3 on July 26th. The next ship is scheduled for September.
Coke was the main cargo transported in the Port of Imbituba, particularly in the green (non-calcined) coke mode, accounting for more than one million tonnes handled in the first half of this year, accounting for almost 30% of the total volume of cargo registered in the port. From January till June, operations totaled around 860 thousand tonnes of non-calcined coke (import and export) and over 200 thousand tonnes of calcined coke (export).
