Port of Itaguaí: Public hearing for ore terminal announced

The National Agency for Waterway Transport (ANTAQ) announced that the Public Hearing to obtain subsidies and suggestions aimed at improving the technical and legal documents for the bidding of terminal ITG 02 at the Organized Port of Itaguaí, will take place on May 19, 2023. The notice was published in the Diário Oficial da União (DOU) this Friday (5).
The public hearing, which will take place virtually, will begin at 10 am and end when the last accredited party manifests itself. The entire virtual session will be broadcast via streaming, recorded, and available on ANTAQ’s YouTube channel.
Those interested in speaking at the hearing should register through the messaging application “Whatsapp” at (61) 2029-6940. The registration period will be from 12 pm to 5 pm on May 18, 2023.
This is the first public hearing authorized by the Agency in 2023. The preparatory documents for the bidding for the port facility are already available on ANTAQ’s website.
About the undertaking
The new enterprise – which will be implemented in an area of 348,937m² – is expected to receive, throughout the concession, almost R$3 billion in investments to increase the iron ore flow capacity through the Port of Itaguaí, handling almost 400 million tons throughout the contractual term.
