On Thursday, the 14th, an important meeting took place at the headquarters of the Port Authority of Itajaí, bringing together Fábio da Veiga, the Superintendent of the Port of Itajaí, Jucelino dos Santos Sora, the Director General of Engineering, Jean Carlos Potrich, the Coordinator of Informatics and Information Technology, along with representatives from the ZPORT Group, including Danilo Rogério Rosa, Operations Manager, Wagner Gonçalves de Lima, Logistics Manager, Maxini Costa Moreira, Operations Coordinator, and Eduardo Ataliba, IT Supervisor.
The main topic of the meeting was the possibility of the ZPORT Group becoming a Port Operator at the Port of Itajaí, specifically in its public area (Area B – berths 03 and 04).
Specializing in port operations, ZPORT assists its clients in contracting integrated logistics systems for the movement of goods in the national import and export scenario, handling general cargo (such as sugar and fertilizers), as well as import and export bulk cargo.
According to Danilo, since 2016, ZPORT has been exploring alternatives to handle export cargoes through the Itajaí terminal. “Initially, we intend to operate with export cargoes of sugar, using the ‘breakbulk’ model (loose cargo), and then expanding to other types of cargoes. All our documentation has already been submitted to the Port Authority. Now, we are just waiting for the Port Authority’s analysis to become accredited as a port operator here at the Port of Itajaí,” he emphasized.
Founded 13 years ago, ZPORT is located in São Francisco do Sul (SC), where it operates as a port operator, also working in other ports in Santa Catarina such as Imbituba and Itapoá. The company operates in other regions as well, covering its movements from north to south, consolidating itself within an expansion process in various ports across the country.
