The Itajaí public treasury authorities suspended the simplified selection process organized by the Port of Itajaí to temporary lease berths 3 and 4 of the terminal’s public area. Judge Sonia Moroso Terres ruled in favor of an injunction request from SC Portos, a company that operates cargo in the Port of Itajaí.
SC Portos claimed that the period bidders could submit proposals, which lasted a week and ended on August 31st at 7 pm, was insufficient to conduct all required economic evaluation studies. The judge ruled that “such a short term limited competition, which could result in a less advantageous contract.”
On the 1st, after the courts approved the injunction, Ronaldo Camargo Souza, Director General of Administration and Finance of the Port of Itajaí Superintendence, issued an order suspending the selection process.
