The Port of Paranaguá is conducting a review of public silos and structures commonly used by terminals in the Paranaguá Port Export Corridor.
“This maintenance is being performed in conjunction with the operating companies. We are preparing for the increase in exports of grain, which will begin in February and March, when we expect to move large volumes with the new soybean crop entering the market ”, explains the CEO of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia.
The maintenance of the vertical silo (Silão), the warehouses and the hopper are being done in cooperation with the Export Corridor Port Operators Association (AOCEP). According to the technical manager, Andrey José Dahle Bonaldi, in addition to cleaning the fixed structures, all mechanical, civil and electrical overhauling and maintenance are also being performed.
“We are carrying out a mechanical overhaul on scales and tippers, preventive maintenance on flow scales, overhauling and cleaning panels as well as various electrical and civil maintenance services such as painting, plate changes, improved access to tippers and hoppers”, said Bonaldi.
According to him, maintenance of the hopper and warehouses should be completed by the January 15. As for maintenance of conveyor belts, dalas and all other structures and equipment that make up the connections between the terminals and the quay are being reviewed in partnership with the Paranaguá Export Corridor Terminals Association (ATEXP).
