The Port of Rio de Janeiro has resumed unloading bulk salt in an operation carried out for Sal Cisne, marking the return of this type of cargo after a long hiatus.
The task was completed using the vessel Rays, docked at the Gamboa Pier, an area with an operational draft of 9.40 meters. A total of 36,670 tons of salt was unloaded through direct discharge and transported using 200 vehicles from the terminal to the company’s refinery in Cabo Frio.
Eduardo Miguez, Business Development Manager, highlighted that “this return demonstrates that the Port of Rio de Janeiro is becoming increasingly competitive. We are strengthening our market relationships and proving that we can efficiently and swiftly manage complex operations.”
Felipe Fonseca, Superintendent of Planning and Business Development, added, “This was a significant achievement for the Port of Rio. Our continuous efforts in market outreach and seeking solutions that add value for our clients yield concrete results. The industry is recognizing the Port of Rio’s progress, and we are confident that new cargo operations will follow soon.”
“The successful unloading of bulk salt reinforces the Port of Rio’s strategic position in the state’s logistics sector, contributing to the diversification of operations and strengthening the local economy. PortosRio remains committed to attracting new cargo and expanding its client base, further establishing itself as a benchmark in efficiency and competitiveness within the port industry,“ the maritime terminal emphasized.
