Port of Santos tariff revenues up 28.8%

According to data from the Santos Port Authority (Codesp), the port collected tariff revenues of R$5.32 per ton of cargo in October this year, up 28.8% compared to the same month last year. In June this year the port raised its tariffs by 16.7% in a move that upset the shipping community already dealing with the aftermath of the truckers’ strike, never ending issues surrounding dredging at Santos and the fragile recovery of the Brazilian economy.

O Porto de Santos tem ampliado o montante de receita tarifária obtido em relação à tonelagem de cargas movimentadas.
Segundo dados da Companhia Docas do Estado de São Paulo (Codesp), a autoridade portuária, em outubro passado, a arrecadação foi de R$ 5,32 por tonelada operada – um aumento de 28,8% em relação ao registrado no mesmo mês do último ano, quando o índice foi de R$ 4,13 por tonelada.
Considerando o acumulado do ano, a média é de R$ 4,81 por tonelada, 7,84% a mais do que a dos 12 meses de 2017, R$ 4,48.
