Next Thursday, August 22, at 10 a.m., the new overpass and internal roadways that will streamline vehicle traffic to the pulp cluster at the Port of Santos, near Eldorado Brasil’s terminal, will be inaugurated. The project, which took 22 months to complete and involved an investment of R$ 139 million, aims to improve traffic flow in the area. During the inauguration ceremony, temporary traffic adjustments will be made.
According to the Port Authority, Ismael Coelho de Souza Avenue (internal road) will be closed beyond the Maritime Police Special Unit (Nepon), with access restricted to vehicles participating in the ceremony. However, traffic on Governor Mario Covas Júnior Avenue (ring road) will remain unaffected.
Following the inauguration and the removal of event paraphernalia, the overpass will be opened to general vehicle traffic. It’s important to note that Ismael Coelho de Souza Avenue will become a one-way street, with entry through the Port Captaincy and exit exclusively via the new overpass.
Additionally, parking along Ismael Coelho de Souza Avenue will be prohibited due to the anticipated increase in vehicle traffic. The road will be properly marked to ensure traffic safety and smooth port operations.
