All logistics for the entry of vehicles, machinery, and electrical equipment into Brazil by BYD are concentrated in Espírito Santo and have its gateway at the Port of Vitória.
BYD arrived in Brazil in 2015 when it opened its first 100% electric bus assembly plant in Campinas (SP). In 2017, it opened a second factory, also in Campinas, to produce photovoltaic modules. To supply the electric bus fleet, in 2020, the company started the operation of its third factory in Brazil, in the Manaus Industrial Complex (PIM), dedicated to the production of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. The company is also responsible for two SkyRail (monorail) projects in the country, one in Salvador (Subúrbio VLT) and the city of São Paulo (Line 17 – Gold).
