The Port of Cabedelo reached a historic milestone in March, handling over 172,030 tons of cargo, according to the operational report released by Companhia Docas da Paraíba.
March operations were driven by petcoke shipments, which exceeded 90,000 tons of imports, and strong performance in the fuel segment, with nearly 65,000 tons handled. So far this year, the port has already processed over 285,000 tons, evenly split between solid bulk—such as pet coke, wheat, and malt—and liquid bulk, including gasoline, diesel, and ethanol.
According to Ricardo Barbosa, President of Companhia Docas da Paraíba,
“This record in March results from our team’s tireless work and the investments that have transformed the new Port of Cabedelo. We are increasingly ready for new operations and partnerships reinforcing our strategic position. The Port of Cabedelo is, without a doubt, the right destination for a future of great achievements.”
These results are part of a promising investment landscape. The Port of Cabedelo is currently undergoing the largest investment program in its history, totaling R$300 million in various infrastructure projects while maintaining uninterrupted operations. This strategy aims to improve logistics efficiency est, abolish the port as a key container cabotage hub, and create opportunities for new cargo types and strategic operations.
“Alongside all the infrastructure projects set to be completed by the end of April, we have achieved this record as we celebrate our port’s 90th anniversary. Congratulations to the Port of Cabedelo, and my gratitude to Governor João Azevêdo and all our dedicated employees,” Barbosa added.
With significant investments and the arrival of new operations, the Port of Cabedelo is becoming even more modern, efficient, and strategic—a key driver of Paraíba’s economic growth, creating jobs, boosting business, connecting markets, and strengthening the regional economy.
