Porto Ponta do Félix wins OEA certificate

Porto Ponta do Félix, in Antonina, on the coast of Paraná, won the Authorized Economic Operator certificate (OEA) issued by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB), and will now be a part of the Brazilian Customs Program. The certificate recognizes companies that demonstrate the ability to manage risks related to the material security of the cargo and compliance with customs tax.

The Port in Antonina was also certified in the Compliance and Security sectors, which assess customs compliance while taking into account the adoption of procedures required by the Brazilian Authorized Economic Port Operator (OEA) program and its application to the supply chain in the flow of foreign trade operations.

A distinction of the Porto Ponta do Félix is the existence of a customs warehouse within their port area.

“We are the first Brazilian port to have the two certifications, and now we can enjoy all the benefits that come with them,” celebrates the president of Porto Ponta do Félix, Gilberto Birkhan.

Advantages

The certifications make Porto Ponta do Félix recipients of the benefits and advantages of the Mutual Recognition Agreements that the RFB has with the customs administrations of other countries. In practice, the certification allows greater practicality and agility in the documentary process of its import and export operations, giving greater speed to international movements.

Among the advantages, the Unique Export Declaration (DU-E) is prioritized by the RFB. In addition, the percentage of declarations is reduced in relation to other declarants.

Today the OEA Program has partnerships with more than 20 countries, such as those that are part of Mercosur, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, Uruguay, Peru, and China.

Diversification of operations

The certification also contributes to the diversification of operations at Porto Ponta do Félix. The Terminal is multipurpose, with the capacity to move and store different types of cargo, such as fertilizers, bagged sugar, salt, malt, wheat, wood pellets, and food.

Over the next months, the Ponta do Félix Port will also count with new warehouses, increasing storage capacity by 85%, from 280 thousand tonnes to 520 thousand tonnes.
