On Monday, August 12th, Portocel commenced loading operations with Suzano’s pulp cargo at the Port of Santos, marking its first move at Terminal 32 (T32), located in the largest port in the Southern Hemisphere.
On August 4th, 60 cellulose pulp wagons coming from Brazil’s Midwest and the interior of São Paulo arrived at T32 via rail. Portocel is responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping these cargoes to China.
Terminal 32 (T32) at Port of Santos
T32 has recently undergone a renovation that expanded its storage capacity by approximately 7,000 m² and added four new rail lines. Equipped with two gantries for unloading, the terminal can now handle 44 wagons simultaneously. Additionally, the storage area has been increased by over 32%, from 21,278.98 m² to 28,120.09 m².
Hiring Initiatives
Portocel, which already employs over 300 workers at its Aracruz unit in Espírito Santo, recently hired around 50 workers in Santos to support its operations in the city. With this expansion into Santos, the company is poised to broaden its activities in other states.
