Portonave has best quarter in history

Portonave – Porto de Navegantes released the results for the first quarter of 2023 with historical records at the state and national levels. A total of 329,600 TEUs were handled, making it the best quarter for the company in the last five years. Compared to the same period in 2022, with a 277,813 TEUs throughput, there was an increase of 19%.
Out of the first three months of the year, March stood out with 124 thousand TEUs – also the best monthly result in five years. This result helped consolidate Portonave as the leader in Brazil’s South. In the case of Santa Catarina’s market share, January closed with 62%, the best number in history.
With 13.9 thousand TEUs in March, the largest reefer volume ever shipped in a single month at the terminal, reefer operations had their fair share of importance. Portonave also recorded the highest reefer volume ever shipped in the quarter, reaching 36,600 TEUs, up 32% and 23%, respectively.
Nationally, Portonave held a 15% market share in the period, being the second largest container handler, according to Datamar. The position has been consolidated since 2017.
The Terminal Gate saw the record movement of 3,000 trucks in and out of the port. Keeping up with the trend, March stood out in this aspect, with 2,896 truck accesses registered at the gate. In the quarter, 179 ships berthed.
