Portonave stands out in import operations, says Antaq report

According to Antaq’s 2022 waterway performance report, Portonave had 1,149,715 TEUs throughput last year, up 4.76% over 2021 volumes. For comparison purposes, Brazil handled 11,696,117 TEUs in 2022, a volume 0.95% lower than in 2021.

The terminal also ranked high for long-haul import operations in 2022, as can be seen below:
Among the goods imported by Portonave, the following stand out (in this order): plastics and articles thereof, reactors, boilers and machines, and electronics and parts thereof.
In terms of exports, the highlights are meat, in which Portonave has a relevant share (3rd export port in the country in reefer containers, behind only Santos and Paranaguá). It is also worth noting that the terminal is expanding its capacity for reefer cargo with 1,200 new outlets, in an investment of R$ 58 million. The terminal will have more than 3,000 active charging outlets in operation.
Brazil, China, and the USA are among the main origins and destinations of containers handled by Portonave in 2022.
