Portos do Paraná moved forward on Tuesday (26) with the bidding process for the upcoming auction of another area at the Port of Paranaguá. The space, called PAR15, located near the Export Corridor, will be designated for the handling and storing of vegetable bulk solids, with a 35-year lease for exploitation by the new tenant.
The area is currently occupied by Cargill. The winning bidder will be required to invest approximately BRL 293 million in PAR15 and BRL 311 million in the first phase of the T-Pier construction.
Auction Notice No. 1/2024, directed to interested parties, was published in the official gazettes of the Union and the State of Paraná, along with the bidding documents and the necessary technical and legal documents. The auction session is scheduled for February 21, 2025, at B3 – Brasil Bolsa Balcão, where the proposals will be opened.
“This is another important auction aimed at increasing the export capacity of soybeans, corn, and soybean meal through the Port of Paranaguá, ensuring legal security for the future tenant. The projection is that this area will increase its static capacity from 115,000 tonnes to more than 190,000 tonnes after the implementation of the planned investments,” said Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná.
Garcia also highlighted that PAR15 and other areas undergoing the same process will transform the cargo handling capacity at the Port of Paranaguá. “With the operation of the centralized railway hopper, Moegão, and the new maritime infrastructure with the T-Pier, we will enhance the efficiency of Portos do Paraná, which is already a reference in Brazil and globally,” he added.
The auction participation requirements are available on the Portos do Paraná portal and the Ministry of Ports and Airports website. Detailed information about the documentation can also be checked in person at the Portos do Paraná administrative office, located at Avenida Ayrton Senna da Silva, 161, Dom Pedro II neighborhood, in Paranaguá.
This is yet another bidding process carried out by the public company through the Port Area Bidding Commission (CLAP) since obtaining the Delegation Agreement in 2019.
“The delegation of authority allows us to conduct the process, and this is another differentiator for Portos do Paraná compared to other port authorities. We remain committed to regularizing contracts and making our operations even more efficient and modern,” concluded Garcia.
