The Port of Paranaguá has set a date for its first public hearing of the year, which is part of the process for leasing the PAR09 area. The event will be held virtually on March 24, with its beginning scheduled for 2 pm and the maximum end time set for 6 pm.
“The public hearing is an instrument that, in addition to ensuring transparency and wide dissemination of the project, contributes to advancing the debate and clarifying any doubts about the lease of the area,” says Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná.
The 24 thousand square meter terminal is located west of the organized port area and is designed to handle and store Solid Vegetable Bulk.
The notice for the hearing has been published both in the state and in the Federal gazettes. In addition, the rules to participate in the tender and other info can be found here.
PAR09 is a brownfield area. According to the Bidding Commission of Portos do Paraná, the contributions and suggestions received during this consultation period (from February 21st to April 6th) and public hearing will be analyzed and used to improve the project.
The document will be sent to the Federal Audit Court after the process is completed and the Port Authority’s contributions have been analyzed. The entire process is transparent and widely publicized.
The event should take place in the second half of this year, with total expected investments (Capex) of around R$ 492.6 million.
