Portos RS Recognized at the 7th ANTAQ Awards in Brasília

Portos RS participated in the 7th edition of the ANTAQ Awards on November 26 in Brasília, cementing its status as a leader in Brazil’s waterway sector.
The company received the award for Greatest Annual Improvement in the Environmental Performance Index (IDA), with the Port of Pelotas earning special recognition. This achievement highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to implement environmental enhancements and sustainable practices in its operations.
Another prominent category was Technical-Scientific Articles, which acknowledged work in fields such as Law, Economics, Regulation, Environment, Management, Social Sciences, Geography, Public Policy, Infrastructure, and Logistics. The awarded articles demonstrated significant technical-scientific and institutional relevance aligned with ANTAQ’s areas of competence.
Two articles developed as part of the environmental management of Rio Grande do Sul’s ports were honored:
“Conventional Emergency Processes Insufficient For Floodable Ports: The Porto Alegre (Brazil) Case”, authored by the Environmental Management Program (PGA) team at the Porto Alegre Port under the coordination of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) professor Tatiana da Silva.
“Digital Twin Porto do Rio Grande (Dt – Porto): Building Prevention and Resilience”, developed by Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) professors Elisa Fernandes and Glauber Gonçalves.
Henrique Ilha, Director of Environment, emphasized the importance of this recognition. “For three consecutive years, Portos RS has been awarded at the ANTAQ Awards across various categories, demonstrating the company’s commitment and ongoing progress toward sustainability.”
The event also underscored the importance of initiatives focused on inclusion and diversity with the introduction of the new “Gender and Diversity” category. Additionally, actions promoting efficiency and innovation in the port sector were recognized.
