State port authority PortosRio announced on Brazil’s Offical Gazette and on the company’s website Public Call nº 01/2023, which aims to find companies interested in engaging in projects of clean energy transition and production of sustainable fuels at the Port of Itaguaí.
Companies interested in participating must control the technology to develop projects, such as green hydrogen, fuels, batteries, and LNG operation, among other things. Furthermore, the public call seeks to identify potential consumers or investors of the projects to be implemented in Itaguaí.
According to Jean Paulo Castro e Silva, acting CEO of PortosRio, the port authority intends to implement pilot plants, research centers, and production units in the Port of Itaguaí to develop technologies related to the generation of clean energy and sustainable fuels: “The Port of Itaguaí has a large area available, excellent land and waterway connectivity, on top of being close to energy-intensive industries. Furthermore, there are excellent prospects for the port to become a hub for the new gas market, based on the implementation of route 4B, a gas pipeline connecting the port to the pre-salt producing basins.”
Interested parties may declare their intentions and clarify doubts with PortosRio‘s Business Development Management at [email protected] and [email protected]. The public call will have a 90-day term from the date of publication.
