In parallel, last Monday, March 6, Senasa authorities began negotiations with the Chilean Agricultural Livestock Service (SAG in Spanish) to offer necessary guarantees that would allow the resumption of shipments of poultry products from the country.
Senasa insisted that the disease is not contracted by consuming poultry products, such as chicken meat or eggs, and reported that, until the self-suspension of poultry exports, Argentina shipped these goods to more than 50 countries. More than 80% of these products were destined for China, Saudi Arabia, Europe, South Africa, and Chile.
