The Council of the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) gave, on June 2, the green light to advance the privatization of a series of assets of the Ministry of Infrastructure, such as the Port of Santos and the 7th round of airport concessions, whose auctions are to happen in the second semester.
The PPI also approved the deadline extension for re-bidding the airports of Viracopos (SP) and São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN).
The board also approved the inclusion of Galeão airport (RJ), which shall also be returned by the current concessionaire, in the program.
Concerning the Port of Santos, which is slated to be auctioned by the end of the year, the PPI board suggested including the port authority in the National Privatization Program (PND). Furthermore, the operational model and criteria that will be followed in the privatization of the 15 airports that will be transferred to the private sector were agreed upon in the seventh round.
