The Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Santa Catarina (Faesc) is celebrating a milestone that has significantly impacted the productive sector in recent weeks. Meat exports in the first two months of 2025 reached historic records in volume and revenue.
According to data from the Ministry of Economy, compiled by the Agricultural Socioeconomics and Planning Center (Epagri/Cepa), Santa Catarina exported 328.6 thousand tons of meat—including chicken, pork, turkey, duck, drake, and beef—generating revenues of $698 million in the first two months of the year.
The data shows an 8.3% increase in meat export volume and a 16.8% rise in revenue compared to the same period in 2024. This result surpasses the highest records in the historical series, which began in 1997, considering the months of January and February.

The Faesc president and finance vice president at the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA), José Zeferino Pedrozo, emphasized that this performance results from excellence throughout the production process. “It all starts at the rural property, with all the necessary care to ensure productivity, health standards, quality, and sustainability. With innovation, appropriate techniques, and new technologies, both small and large producers are prepared to meet the strict requirements of international markets.”
Faesc, as the state’s leading representative of agriculture and livestock, plays a fundamental role in supporting producers to ensure excellence in the production process. “We work tirelessly to guide and train producers through courses, Technical and Managerial Assistance, events, and other initiatives in partnership with other entities in the productive sector, government agencies, and the agribusiness industry.”
The leader also highlighted the crucial role of health standards in Santa Catarina’s poultry and pork industries, which are fundamental pillars for the sector’s success, especially regarding exports. “Our state stands out in Brazil and worldwide for its products’ quality and sanitary safety, and we do not doubt that this results from a rigorous monitoring, control, and disease prevention system.”
For Faesc, the commitment to animal health ensures the quality of products and strengthens Santa Catarina’s competitiveness in the global market. It secures consumer trust and maintains the state’s leadership in meat production in Brazil and globally.
