As part of the modernization program for the facilities at the Areia Branca Saline Terminal (TERSAB), Companhia Docas do Rio Grande do Norte (CODERN), which manages Porto-Ilha, invested R$ 5.2 million to purchase a tractor conveyor, forklift, and wheel loader, replacing the old equipment.
Modernized and safer, the machines are part of a set of strategic actions that aim to optimize handling at Porto-Ilha and offer better working conditions to employees.
Transportation of the machinery to TERSAB was carried out by means of a large raft, early last Wednesday, May 19th, and involved an extremely qualified workforce in view of the complexity of handling the machinery at sea, including the removal of the equipment for Porto Ilha.
Investments at the site will continue in the coming months and involve a series of improvements, works, and investments.
