On Monday, July 25, Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) reported that fresh, chilled, and frozen beef shipments reached 129.6 thousand tonnes in the fourth week of July. In the same period last year, the total volume exported in the month was 165 thousand tonnes in 22 working days.
The daily average exported was 8,100 tonnes until the fourth week of July and recorded an appreciation of 7.7%, compared to July last year, which was 7,500 tonnes.
According to Fernando Henrique Iglesias, an analyst at Safras & Mercado, this week’s foreign trade highlight continues to be the revenue from beef exports. “Despite a slight decline in volume sent, it is a decrease in regular level compared to July 2021, which was a terrific month in terms of shipments,” he commented to the Notícias Agrícolas publication.
The average prices recorded in the 16 working days in July were close to US$ 6,617.60 thousand per tonne, which increased by 21.6% compared to data released in July 2021, in which average prices registered US$ 5,442.00 thousand per tonne.

The daily average was US$ 53,631 million, with an appreciation of 31.00%, compared to the price levels in July last year, which was US$ 40,946 million.
According to the analyst, the total volume shipped by the end of the month is likely to be between 160 and 180 thousand tonnes. As in the previous month, revenue collection should be close to $1 billion.
