Rice exports from Brazil reach new highs in July

Brazil exported 207.2 thousand tonnes of paddy rice in July, with a revenue of US$ 66.3 million. July was also the month with the best foreign trade result for the rice industry this year. Processed rice exports also grew last July.
According to data released by the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), exports more than doubled in July compared to the same month of 2021, when shipments totaled 96,600 t, with sales of US$ 30.1 million. In July this year, Brazil imported 120,600 t, equivalent to US$ 34 million. In the same month of 2021, foreign purchases reached 80.6 thousand t, totaling US$ 25.7 million.

From January to July, rice shipments reached 896.4 thousand t, representing US$ 265.7 million. In the same period of 2021, exports totaled 572.5 thousand t, with sales of US$ 187.5 million.
