With the signing, on July 5, of the ordinances that alter the polygons of the Organized Ports under its management, Rio de Janeiro Port Authority (CDRJ) announced the main changes occurred in the delimitation of the areas of the Ports of Rio de Janeiro, Niterói, Itaguaí, and Angra dos Reis, as well as updated coordinate maps.

Polygonal delimit organized ports, defining the areas of responsibility and competence of the port authority. The properties within the polygonal also have different commercial instruments for their commercialization.

The Port Planning and Development Management (Gerpla), responsible for the management of polygons, presents how the areas of the ports were organized with the inclusions and exclusions occurred, and highlights some points of the new polygons:

Port of Rio de Janeiro: several properties of the Rio Port Authority were included in the polygonal, allowing the use of various commercial instruments and restricting their alienation.

Port of Itaguaí: the highlight was the withdrawal of the Ternium TUP access channel. The negotiations were conducted between Suplam / Gerpla and Supita and, as a result, the CDRJ will save R$20m every two years with dredging in that stretch (which was exclusively for the private terminal).

Port of Niterói: the areas of the Guanabara Bay basement, under CDRJ responsibility, were also included in the Organized Port area of Niterói (sharing with the Port of Rio de Janeiro). It is important to note that the rule for the use of an area of landfill is defined by the CDRJ, having no connection with the organized port area.

Port of Angra dos Reis: lot 4 was excluded from the polygonal because CDRJ lost its possession to the Angra dos Reis City Hall (CDRJ is appealing the decision judicially).
