On October 1st, Rumo inaugurated three train filling stations in Pátio de Tutóia, located in the municipality of Araraquara (SP). This is the biggest investment made by Rumo in railway infrastructure in São Paulo. Part of Rumo’s largest supply complex, the stations will be responsible for serving train operations in the Sao Paulo network and in Operation North. The infrastructure is capable of simultaneously servicing up to four trains or 14 locomotives, without the need for maneuvers. The infrastructure investment is estimated to be valued at R$140 million.
The new gas station is part of the compensation provided to the municipality in the interior of the state in the obligations for the early renewal of the concession contract for the Sao Paulo network. “This investment in the Tutóia yard represents a 144% gain in diesel storage capacity, bringing more predictability to the operation. In addition, we are reducing the transit time by around 84 minutes on the stretch between Rondonópolis (MT) and Santos (SP), which currently lasts 84 hours”, said the president of the concessionaire, Beto Abreu.
