Sales of auto parts inject USD 6 bn to manufacturers in Brazil

Exports of auto parts injected US$ 6.1 billion to manufacturers installed in Brazil from January to September year-to-date, according to industry association Sindipeças. The result indicates an increase of 21.7% over that measured in January-September of last year.
Imports, in turn, totaled US$ 15 billion, a growth of 17% compared to the same period of the previous year. Compared to September last year, there was an increase of 10.3% and a retraction of 8.9% compared to August, according to balance sheet data.

Argentina is the main destination
The sector’s trade balance, therefore, registered a deficit of US$ 8.9 billion in the year. The variation observed was 13.9% compared to the same period last year.
Despite the adverse economic scenario, Argentina remains the main destination for auto parts manufactured in Brazil, with a share of 36.2% in 2022. On the other hand, the country that exported the most to Brazil was China, accounting for 16.1% of imports.
